Monday’s total solar eclipse was an event like no other – a time for Americans – for friends, family and neighbors to put aside any petty and personal differences and witness the splendor of the Creator of the Universe on full display… together. Although, admittedly, the total solar eclipse was a once-in-a-generation event, we all-too-infrequently come together like we did on Monday.
Pickleball Transcends Age
Pickleball, however, may be the exception. There are many reasons I love pickleball and I have previously chronicled ten such reasons. One of the primary reasons I love this sport is because it brings people – of all generations – together like few activities can. I’m 46 years old – but really enjoy playing with my 84-year old, new-to-the-sport Mom & Dad, my 21-year old, Ramen Noodles-loving college-student friend and my 3 and 5 year old niece and nephew. It’s a sport that you can play with your son – or daughter – or grandparents. It’s a sport that transcends age, physical ability and social class.
Don’t wait until April 8, 2024, for the next total solar eclipse to get together and feel connected with one another. Play pickleball today! 🙂 See you on the courts.
