Pickleball, invented approximately 50 years ago in 1965, is one of the fastest growing sports in America. A combination of tennis, ping-pong and badminton, pickleball is played with a paddle and whiffle ball on a court approximately one-fourth the size of a tennis court. Similar to your home, a pickleball court includes a kitchen — the area on the pickleball court 7 feet from the net on either side in which you cannot volley — also called the “no-volley” zone.

Shown below is a video from NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams that was originally aired on March 18, 2014 that illustrates why the pickleball craze is sweeping the nation.
Note: I just love the Wednesday itinerary of 5 the five women interviewed by Mark Potter at The Villages — golf in the morning, lunch and then pickleball — or as they put it, their “triathlon.” Sounds like something for which I should start training! See you on the courts!
Great site, Todd! Easy to navigate with lots of useful info and found your equipment tab gave a good selection of goodies for beginner and more advanced alike! Keep up the good work of promoting a sport we all love and is growing exponentially around the country! See you on the courts! Frank Freeney
Thanks, Frank. See you on the courts!
