It is, no doubt, going to be another extraordinarily busy year for pickleball tournaments – for both amateurs and pros. Prize money also continues to explode in 2022 as events attempt to attract the very best pickleball players.

Both the PPA and the APP have published their calendars for 2022 with the APP offering 32 events with prize money in 2022 totaling over $1,700,000 and the PPA Tour boasting 19 events with over $3,000,000 in payouts.
Although there are similarities between the two tours, there are also significant differences between the two professional pickleball tours.
APP Pickleball Tournament Calendar for 2022
The APP (Association of Pickleball Professionals) Tour – the first USA Pickleball sanctioned tour – has 32 stops scheduled for 2022 with prize money for each event ranging from $25,000 – $125,000. PPA Pickleball Tournament Calendar for 2022
The PPA (Pro Pickleball Association) – a non-USA Pickleball sanctioned tour – has approximately 19 stops scheduled for 2022. According to the PPA, “The 2022 PPA Tour will feature a new breakdown of events with Majors, 1,000s’, 500’s, and 250’s events. These events are tiered to offer a different amount of PPA Points that make up seedings, standings, and the season’s champions.”
